๐Ÿ“– The Book of Preserving Life ๐Ÿ“–

By Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri, better known as Ibn al-Jawzi

Enjoy reading the book Preserving Life by Ibn al-Jawzi with the best offline app for books and stories, and many other features.

This is a simple, lightweight booklet, not a book in the literal sense. It is a collection of excerpts from here and there, quoted from Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) and the righteous predecessors (may Allah have mercy on them all). However, it is very useful and inspiring for its reader.

Ibn al-Jawzi says in his short, wonderful book, "About the unwavering desire to do good deeds...About the pursuit of an eternal life..." Whoever increases his lifespan by depositing piety, closeness to God, and righteous deeds in it, says: "I saw life as a commodity for mankind, and I was amazed at people's negligence in it, as if they did not know that this world is a racetrack and that the ultimate goal of life is the goal. However, the difference in the race is based on the degree of their determination, and the variance of their determination is based on the degree of their faith in the Hereafter. Whoever is truly certain of the length of the path will prepare, whoever has little knowledge will be discouraged, and whoever does not know their goal will stumble." He mentioned stories of some righteous people who made the most of their lives in worship, and then explained the reasons for people wasting their lives and not taking advantage of it, such as hastening comfort and long-awaited hope.

Author:
Ibn al-Jawzi is Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri. He was a Hanbali jurist, hadith scholar, historian, and theologian (510 AH/1116 CE - 12 Ramadan 597 AH). He was born and died in Baghdad. He enjoyed widespread fame and a prominent position in oratory, preaching, and writing, and he excelled in many sciences and arts. His lineage goes back to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq. He was known as Ibn al-Jawzi because of a walnut tree that once grew in his house in the town of Wasit. There was no other walnut tree in the town, and it was also said that he was named after "Fardat al-Jawz," the port of the Basra River.

- Books like this should be included in your daily routine.. because they contain a powerful reminder of the fate of the servant and the danger of wasting one's life on things that are of no benefit.. O Allah, have mercy on Your servant, the scholar and ocean Abu al-Faraj Ibn al-Jawzi
Hamid

- A concise message of great benefit and usefulness.. Life is nothing but minutes and seconds. If you do not seize the opportunity, it will be a disaster for you.. And if you do not occupy your soul with what is right, it will occupy you with what is wrong.. O Allah, bless our times and lives for us, teach us what benefits us, benefit us with what You have taught us, and increase our knowledge.
A Lifetime Wish

- You often see old men and young men sitting, playing and wasting their time in amusement and idle talk, squandering the rights of Allah Almighty, and my heart trembles with pain for Wasting their lives and their religion... Ibn al-Jawzi here mentions preserving the most precious things = preserving one's life!
Amr Azzazy

- A small booklet, resembling a treatise, about preserving one's life and seizing its days and hours. It mentions some stories of righteous people who seized their days and nights in worship, then discusses the reasons for wasting one's life, such as long hope and hastening relief. Anyone who reads this book will be filled with pain and regret over our wastefulness and procrastination. He will see the distance between us and those worshippers.
Malik Jawadi

- A motivating and enlightening book by Ibn al-Jawzi, in which he explains the importance of reading, knowledge, and stocking up on the best provisions (piety). Eloquent sermons and precious benefits. He urges work and avoiding the "idle." He explains the reasons for wasting one's life. I recommend reading it.
