His book, "The Disguise of Satan," is one of Ibn al-Jawzi's most famous books, which he wrote toward the end of his life. He begins with an introduction in which he says: "As for what follows, the greatest blessing for man is the mind, for it is the instrument for knowing God, the Exalted, and the means by which one attains belief in the Messengers..."
Then he introduces us to his book: "This is a book that I have written to protect us from the temptation of Satan, to frighten us from his trials, to reveal his hidden secrets, and to expose his hidden deception." Ibn al-Jawzi divided his book into thirteen chapters, which, taken together, reveal his disguise, and to the discerning, by understanding them, his deception becomes clear.
In this book, Ibn al-Jawzi attempts to expose the deviations of many people due to their distance from the guidance of the prophets and their ignorance of religion. He traces the misleading innovations, alien ideas, and deviant behavior prevalent in his era (which resemble our current reality) in order to warn people against them. The book is important for attaining true knowledge, reform, the straight path, and beliefs free from doubt and illusion.
Ibn al-Jawzi attributed most of the causes of the spread of misguidance in the world and the reasons for the infiltration of these ignorances into the souls of humans to Satan, his deception, insinuations, and fraud. He clarified the doubts with which Satan deceived various groups of people through research, investigation, and criticism, while revealing the correct and incorrect issues, based on textual and rational evidence and examples attested to by the senses and conscience. There are several efforts to verify and refine this book, removing its unproven chains of transmission and false stories.

- The book is truly wonderful. It satisfied my passion and answered many of the questions that were on my mind about the reasons for the emergence of different sects and the reasons why people behave in different ways. It is Satan who is adept at deceiving and misleading people in various malicious ways. I advise every Muslim to read it.

- Ibn al-Jawzi attempted to trace Satan's footsteps, not to disobey, but to warn us against disobedience. He left nothing out that he thought Satan would make attractive to us without pointing it out to us. He alerted us to his plans and endeavors, and narrated to us the amazing things. But by God, Ibn al-Jawzi, you have made things too narrow for us. BookHunter M ُH َM َD
