Before creating the English app, I fed research papers into AI.

One thing became clear: the reason Japanese people can't speak English isn't due to a lack of effort, but rather a problem with the order of learning. If it's just a matter of the order of methods, it can be corrected.

■ Why I Created It

There are tons of English learning apps and English conversation apps out there. But I couldn't find any that explained "why" you should do things in that order.

So, before creating it, I had AI research on second language acquisition (SLA). The reasons why Japanese people can't speak English were broadly categorized into three points:

1. Sound processing can't keep up (it's not because of poor hearing)
2. Insufficient practice in speaking (there weren't opportunities in school)
3. Knowledge isn't in a "usable form" (you can explain it, but you can't use it spontaneously)

Obtaining the cause allows you to determine the order. This app identifies your weaknesses in a 5-minute diagnosis, and the AI ​​then creates a practice sequence for you.

■ First, the 5-minute diagnosis

The first thing you do isn't studying, but confirming your current level. This assessment diagnoses your five language skills according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Is it a problem with hearing? Is it difficulty recalling words? Do you know the words but can't speak them? Different causes require different approaches.

You can take the assessment as many times as you like with the free plan.

■ What you can do:

・CEFR 5-skill assessment… 5 minutes. Identify your weaknesses and create a learning plan.

・Shadowing… AI scores your pronunciation phoneme by phoneme. See which sounds you mispronounced.

・Dictation… See the parts you missed in listening in written form.

・AI role-playing English conversation… Meetings, business trips, casual conversations. Since your speaking partner is an AI, it's okay to stumble over your words.
- AI correction of English diary entries… It corrects the English you've written and explains why it was corrected.
- Vocabulary list… It uses spaced repetition, so words appear just before you forget them.
- Grammar drills… Practice to transform your knowledge into a "usable form."

The biggest hurdle in English conversation might be having someone see your mistakes.
