About this app

NUR brings the tools you need for daily worship together in one simple app.

★ NEW IN THIS UPDATE

• The app is now available in English. Choose it under Settings → Language, or let it follow your device language.
• Not just the menus: the hadith, duas, explanations of the Names of Allah and the prayer guide were all prepared in English.
• The Quran translation follows the language you choose: Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır in Turkish, Marmaduke Pickthall in English.

★ PRAYER TIMES

• Daily prayer times for your location, or pick a city yourself
• A countdown to the next prayer
• Once the monthly timetable is downloaded, it keeps working without an internet connection
• A notification for each prayer, and you choose which prayers you want to be notified for
• An optional reminder 5 to 45 minutes before the time
• Silent, vibrate or sound notifications
• A home screen widget that always shows the next prayer

★ THE QURAN

• All 114 surahs in Arabic, in the Uthmani script
• Transliteration in Latin letters, and a translation
• Set the Arabic and translation font sizes separately
• Save verses to favorites, copy them or share them
• Pick up reading from the surah you left off

★ QIBLA

• A compass showing the Qibla direction and the distance to the Kaaba

★ DHIKR COUNTER

• Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar and other ready-made dhikr
• Add your own dhikr and set a target count
• Count in rounds or endlessly, and see your dhikr statistics

★ DUAS AND THE NAMES OF ALLAH

• 56 duas across 10 categories, each with the Arabic, transliteration, meaning and source

• Prayer times are calculated through the AlAdhan service using the Diyanet calculation method, widely used in Türkiye
• The Quran text comes from AlQuran Cloud
• Turkish translation: Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır — Hak Dini Kur'an Dili
• English translation: Marmaduke Pickthall — The Meaning of the Glorious Koran
• The core of the hadith collection is Imam al-Nawawi's Forty Hadith
• The explanations of the Names, the prayer guide and the renderings of the duas were written for this app

★ PRIVACY

Your location is used only to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and it is never sent to any server. Your settings, dhikr counters and favorites are stored only on your device.
