About this app

Most couples don't run out of things to try. They run out of ways to ask.

Ember handles the asking. You and your partner get the same deck of 100 position cards, and you each swipe through it alone — yes or no, on your own phone, in your own time. Neither of you ever sees what the other swiped past. Only the cards you both said yes to come back, as a match.

That's the whole idea. If it shows up, you both already wanted it.

THE DECK
100 text-based position cards. Each one has a plain description of how it actually works and one practical tip — where the pillow goes, which leg to bend, what keeps your arms from giving out. Cards are marked by level, from easy to genuinely ambitious. Nothing is hidden behind anything: the whole deck is there from the first night.

MATCHES
Every match lands in a list you can both open. Mark one "we tried this", give it one to five stars, and it becomes a record of your own — what the two of you liked, not what a website says people like.

THE DICE
Three dice, one instruction. The first picks the act, the second the part of the body, the third the manner. They aren't rolled independently — only combinations that make sense can land, so you get something you could actually do instead of word salad. Roll it when you want the night decided for you.

TRUTH OR DARE
Turn by turn, with both your names on screen, at three heat levels: warm, hot, and considerably more than hot. Every dare is written to be refusable, and there's a way out written into the card itself.

WHAT YOU BUILD
Nights build a streak. Trying things earns levels. Badges mark the firsts. Small stuff, but it's what turns "we should do that sometime" into something you keep up.

PRIVACY
There's no account and nothing that names you — no sign-up, no password, no email address to hand over. Your partner is linked with one invite code. Your swipes are compared on our server and never displayed — your partner learns what you agreed on and nothing else. You can unlink your partner or delete everything from inside the app.

EMBER+
New subscribers can choose weekly, monthly or yearly and try Ember+ free for 7 days. Matching, dice and Truth or Dare are unlimited during the trial. After the trial, the selected plan renews automatically at the price shown by the store unless cancelled beforehand. One Ember+ covers both partners.

Ember speaks 15 languages, and works the same in all of them.

Ember+ is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, and it renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it any time in the Google Play Store.

What’s new

Ember now has a recovery code. Find yours in Settings and keep it somewhere safe. When you reinstall Ember or move to a new phone, type the code on the first screen and your pairing and your matches come back. Keep the code private: whoever has it gets in.
