Palazzo Merulana AR has been updated to version 2 and becomes "imaginary" with new works and new features. Through augmented reality, this application allows visitors to observe digital works on iconic paintings from the Cerasi collection, the heart of Palazzo Merulana. This experiential narrative bridges the gap between art history and art histories, enabling visitors to encounter references to the artists, the works, their era, and the vision emerging from an extraordinarily coherent collection.
Viewed through the application, the works will come to life and perform in a performance art installation by NuvolaProject, interacting with natural and artificial intelligence. This is a true dramaturgy developed by the artists with the scientific expertise of the museum's art historians.
The operation integrates augmented reality with the performance of a signing actress to ensure the experience is perfectly accessible to deaf people. For these aspects, the National Agency for the Protection and Assistance of the Deaf has been consulted and collaborated with. The goal is to ensure a cultural experience that is not merely superficial, but intense and comprehensive.
The app also contains in-depth content on Palazzo Merulana, its extraordinary collection of masterpieces, and the works featured in this project.
This project was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
