Works when the Bluetooth goes haywire on the Shield TV and the stock remote can't control it. Only issue is I usually have to close the app and reopen it after locking my screen. For whatever reason, the app seems to lose its connection. It might be a 'battery optimization' issue but I'm not sure.

It works, at first. But I have to close it and reopen the app constantly if I do anything else on my phone other than use the app. Three stars may even be generous So I'm changing it to two since it really doesn't work correctly. I had given it three stars because you could tell it has potential always has, but it's always been glitchy with many Samsung phones. I'm just tired of backing out of the app just to reboot it to hit pause. Screw that, switched over to Google TV app which works better.

The Shield has been a downgrade for me compared to the simple, $40 Roku I had before. It's buggy, crashes constantly, freezes, and these things happen every night that I use it. But we're for the app ... an app that's in many ways like the Shield box itself. It too isn't without its annoyances. For one, if you use it and let the app run in the background, when you come back to it, it ignores all screen/button taps. Closing it takes a 10x press of the back button. All this for $200?! Huh!?
