Car Scanner is a vehicle diagnostics, car performance, trip computer and scanner tool that connects to your OBD2 engine management system / ECU through an OBD II Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapter.

Car Scanner provides a wide range of useful features:

1. Create and customize your own dashboard using the gauges and charts you prefer.

2. Add custom extended PIDs to access information that may be hidden by the car manufacturer.

3. Read and reset DTC fault codes directly from your phone, just like a diagnostic scantool. Car Scanner also includes a large database containing DTC codes and their descriptions.

4. View freeze-frame data to check the state of available sensors at the moment a DTC fault code was stored.

5. Use Mode 06 to access ECU self-monitoring test results. This information can help you understand vehicle issues and reduce unnecessary repair costs.

6. Check whether your car is ready for an emission test.

7. View all available vehicle sensors together on one screen.

8. Car Scanner works with vehicles that support the OBD 2 standard. This includes most vehicles manufactured after 2000 and may also include vehicles produced as early as 1996. Compatibility depends on the vehicle.

9. Car Scanner includes multiple connection profiles that provide additional features for Toyota, Mitsubishi, GM, Opel, Vauxhall, Chevrolet, Nissan, Infinity, Renault, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Ford, Subaru, Dacia, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Audi and other supported vehicles.

10. Use HUD mode from the Car Scanner dashboard to project supported vehicle data onto your windshield.

11. Measure vehicle acceleration accurately, including 0–60, 0–100 and other acceleration tests.

12. Use Car Scanner as a trip computer to view trip information and fuel consumption statistics.

13. Car Scanner supports coding and changing supported hidden vehicle settings for the following cars:

* VAG group vehicles, including Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat, built on MQB, PQ26 and MLB-EVO platforms. Available functions may include Video in Motion (VIM), MirrorLink in Motion (MIM), Traffic Jam Assist activation, drive mode profile editing and ambient light configuration. Compatibility depends on the vehicle modules and firmware versions.

* Toyota and Lexus vehicles equipped with CAN bus, including many models manufactured from 2008 to the present.

* Selected Renault and Dacia vehicles. Compatibility may vary depending on the installed vehicle modules and firmware versions.

* Several service functions are also available for other supported cars.

14. Car Scanner provides a wide selection of vehicle diagnostic and monitoring features available for free.

A compatible OBD2 ELM327 adapter is required for the app to work. Supported connection types include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Bluetooth 4.0 Bluetooth LE.

The ELM327 device connects to the diagnostic socket inside your car and allows your phone to communicate with the vehicle diagnostics system.

Compatible adapter brands may include OBDLink, Kiwi 3, V-Gate, Carista, LELink and Veepeak.

When purchasing a low-cost OBD2 ELM327 adapter from eBay, Amazon or another marketplace, check whether it is marked as version 2.1. These adapters may be supported, but some models can contain hardware or connection issues.

PLEASE NOTE:

Vehicle ECUs differ in the number and type of sensors they support. Car Scanner cannot display information that is not provided by your vehicle.

ADAPTER WARNING:

Some low-quality or cloned adapters may fail to connect correctly to the smartphone or vehicle. They may also lose connection, increase the delay when reading data or cause unstable communication with the car engine.

For more reliable diagnostics and connection stability, use a genuine ELM327 device or a compatible adapter from a recognized manufacturer.
