About this app

Obris Vault provides encrypted storage for documents, photos and other private files.

Files, folder names and related metadata are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded. Obris Vault stores encrypted content, encrypted metadata and encrypted key envelopes rather than plaintext files.

Obris Vault is designed to work with your existing Obris account and Obris VPN connection.

Secure file storage

Files are encrypted on your device before being sent to Obris Vault. Encryption and decryption take place on the client device.

The Vault service stores encrypted data, encrypted metadata and encrypted key envelopes used to provide authorised access.

Encrypted folders

Create folders and subfolders to organise your Vault.

Folder names are encrypted before being sent to the Vault service.

Secure sharing

Share encrypted files or folders with another Obris user.

Folder owners can grant:

• Viewer access for browsing and downloading
• Editor access for browsing, downloading, uploading and creating subfolders

Access can be revoked by the folder owner.

Obris account integration

Obris Vault uses your existing Obris ID.

New Vault access is approved through your trusted Obris account and a separate Vault encryption identity is created on your device.

Your Vault identity is protected using the Android Keystore, with hardware backed protection used when supported by the device.

Obris VPN required

Obris Managed Vault requires an active Obris VPN connection.

Access to the managed Vault service is restricted to Obris VPN transport.

Storage plans

Obris Vault includes a Starter storage plan.

Additional storage plans are available through Google Play:

• Vault Starter – 5 GB
• Vault 25 – 25 GB
• Vault 100 – 100 GB

Current storage usage and available storage are displayed inside the app.

Private Vault support

Obris Vault also supports organisations running their own Private Vault infrastructure.

Private Vault licensing and storage are managed by the organisation operating the server.

Privacy focused design

Obris Vault is designed so that the Vault server does not need plaintext access to your uploaded files.

Private encryption keys remain on authorised client devices.
