About this app

METROTHUMP is an ad-free app that combines a metronome, rhythm practice, tuner, and reference tone into one. It's perfect for practicing piano, keyboard, guitar, and wind instruments. No account registration is required.

■ Metronome

- Drag the tempo scale to find a comfortable setting.

- Tap the numbers to input directly.
- Tap tempo. It picks up the actual speed you tap.
- Time signatures from 1 to 12 beats. Setting it to 1 beat simply creates evenly spaced beats.
- Divide into ♩ / ♪♪ / Triplets / ♬. The off-beats are played with a softer sound than the downbeat.
- Accent changes the tone only at the beginning of the measure. This can also be turned off.
- Pendulum, a marker indicating the current beat, and tempo markings from Largo to Prestissimo are displayed.

■ Rhythm Practice

Arrange notes and rests, check them on the sheet music, and listen to the sound directly.


* Whole/half/quarter/eighth/sixteenth notes and rests, dotted notes, ties, triplets
* Notes spanning multiple measures are automatically tied, and eighth and sixteenth notes on the same beat are connected with beams.
* Time signatures: 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8, 5/4
* Loop, one-measure count-in, metronome stacking
* Continuously change from straight to swing with a single knob.
* Name and save rhythms. Tempo and swing are also remembered, so you can resume under the same conditions by loading.

■ Tuner and Reference Pitch

* Measures pitch with a microphone and shows the pitch name and cent deviation with a needle.
* From A1 to approximately 1200Hz. The needle will not move for notes that cannot be read.
* Reference pitch is 440/442/443Hz. Suitable for use in wind ensembles and orchestras.
* There are 6 reference pitches, created by multiplying A and B♭ by 3 different pitches. Switching while a pitch is playing will automatically switch to the next pitch.

■ Choosing the Sound

Sounds are determined by three roles: "beat/note," "accent," and "off-beat." The metronome and rhythm practice use the same settings.

* 11 types of timbres (3 types of click, woodblock, rimshot, tick, beep, bell, cowbell, hi-hat, kick)
* Volume can be changed for each role. Lowering it all the way will silence the sound.
* You can also use your own sounds by loading WAV files from your device or recording with a microphone.
* You can cut out a single beat from the recorded sound while viewing the waveform. The material is not cut, so you can adjust the cutout position as many times as you like.

■ About the Production Process

* Both the click sound and the reference pitch are synthesized on the spot within the device. Because it doesn't use sound source files, tempo and frequency can be created with sample-level precision.
* The beat position is the exact sample position on the waveform. It won't gradually drift even when played for a long time.
* You can choose between light, dark, and system screen modes.
* There are no ads, account registration, or usage data collection. The microphone only works when used for recording and tuning, and recorded sounds are stored only on the device.
