About this game

Ocean Memory is a memory match game set in a deep ocean. The atmosphere is calm, deep blue, and slightly mysterious, with a premium look and no childish style. Players flip cards to find pairs of underwater creatures (octopus, fish, dolphin, shark, whale, crab, jellyfish, starfish, blowfish, squid) represented by emojis. The background uses an animated ocean gradient with soft floating bubbles and subtle light rays for a relaxing, high-quality feel.

Gameplay is classic pair-matching: tap to flip a card, then flip a second. If the two match, they stay face-up; if not, they flip back with a smooth 3D flip animation. When all pairs are found, the level is complete. Cards have a glossy finish, soft shadow, and a gentle ocean glow when matched; a subtle bubble effect plays on successful matches. The grid adapts to the number of pairs so the layout stays clear and readable.

The game has 15 levels with increasing difficulty. Level 1 uses 4 pairs, level 5 has 8 pairs, level 10 has 12, and level 15 has 18. Each level is completed independently, with a score based on the number of attempts and the time taken. After every level, a victory dialog titled “Ocean Cleared” appears and shows time spent, attempts used, and 1–3 earned stars. The dialog offers “Next Level” and “Level Select” in a glassmorphism style with an ocean blur and smooth scale-and-fade animation.

The app includes a welcome screen with an animated ocean background and buttons for Play, Levels, Achievements, and Settings; a level select screen with a grid of 15 levels (locked until unlocked, completed levels show star ratings); a game screen with level number, timer, and attempts counter; an achievements screen with at least eight achievements (e.g. First Dive, Deep Explorer, Ocean Master, Fast Diver, Perfect Memory) that unlock automatically; and a settings screen with sound, music, light/dark ocean theme, and a reset-progress option with confirmation. All progress, stars, achievements, and settings are saved locally using Hive (no SharedPreferences).

The visual style uses a deep blue, teal, and aqua palette with soft white highlights. Backgrounds use a gradient ocean-depth effect, slow floating bubbles, and subtle moving light rays. Cards have rounded corners, a glossy look, and elegant typography—no childish fonts and no bright neon. The result is a polished, calm memory game that feels premium and suitable for a broad audience.
