Eight layers. Two minds. One beat.
OCTAPHASE is an auto-scrolling rhythm runner: you decide when to jump, and every obstacle is timed to the music. Run through eight layers of parallax light, change layers at the switching nodes, and keep the beat to stay in sync.
THE STORY
The KERNEL has turned off the colors of the Network and taken ECHO away. You are NEURA, the last process still following the beat. 21 levels across four sectors, a cinematic introduction, the Kernel speaking to you at the end of each level, and a final showdown against KERNEL // ROOT.
THE CHRONO-PHASE RELAY
At the relay nodes, time slows down, the world turns black and white, and control changes hands: in co-op to the other player, in single-player to ECHO, the AI companion. You become the Ghost Support and with a pulse, destroy glitches and build bridges in front of the runners.
HARDCORE BIT
18 ruthless levels, from 8 BIT to OMEGA BIT: no checkpoints, no help. Halfway through each level, a dimensional rift throws you into another mode of movement: zigzag, zero gravity, free fall, inverter, mirror twins, quantum leap, orbit. Each high score saves the complete replay of the attempt.
ORIGINAL MUSIC
All the music is synthesized by the game. Each level has its own theme; the Hardcore songs are 8-track chiptunes, 4 on the left and 4 on the right. In the jukebox, you can listen to them again with waveforms and an oscilloscope as you unlock levels.
