About this app

Octo Scanner is the door-staff app for events ticketed with Octo Tickets. Enter the gate key your organizer gives you, point your camera at a ticket, and get a clear answer in a second: let them in, or don't.

NO ACCOUNT NEEDED
Your event organizer generates a short gate key and reads it out to you. Type it in and you're ready. The key opens one event only and expires on its own after the event ends.

BUILT FOR BAD SIGNAL
Download the ticket list before doors open and every ticket is checked on your phone, so a weak venue connection never slows the queue. Scans are saved on the device and sync automatically as soon as you're back online. Nothing is lost if the signal drops or the app closes.

A RESULT YOU CAN READ AT A GLANCE
Full-screen colour and large type, with an icon and a word every time:
• Green: admit
• Amber: already used
• Red: wrong event, no scans left, or not a valid ticket

Valid scans clear themselves so the line keeps moving. Rejections stay on screen until you acknowledge them, so a problem is never missed in a fast queue.

• Fast QR scanning with a torch for dark venues
• Multi-entry and re-entry tickets, with scans remaining shown
• Type in a ticket reference when a code is torn, wet or unreadable
• Supervisor override for genuine tickets that were flagged, logged with a reason for the box office
• Live count of people admitted against the event total
• Searchable session log and an end-of-shift summary
• Online, offline and pending-sync status always visible

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The ticket list holds only the details needed at the door. Scanning works with the camera only, and the app never reads your photos or contacts.

Octo Scanner works with events set up through Octo Tickets. You'll need a gate key from the event organizer to sign in.
