why does everything have to be another app?! the online store worked fine; I don't want another app on my phone! infuriating

Since the recent update, I have been unable to use the app anymore, either freezing or crashing and then closing on my Samsung 21 FE. Before the update worked great.

I can't checkout. I can add whatever I want to the cart, I can get to the checkout screen, but placing the order and paying? Nope. Can't add a card or add a form of payment.
