I love the concept and the app. I got some items from here not far from me. I am now collecting from a shop but I found that not many people responded to get the items. Fortunately I was able to give all between the people who responded but I am wondering if it will be more difficult as I will collect the items every week... I am sharing the app in my social media groups to help it grow but not sure if it will work
Love the app, usability's not great though. I have a galaxy 7 Edge, the text is tiny and lots of the tiny stuff is also light grey on a white background. There aren't many apps that I struggle to read out don't offer high contrast and/or text size adjustment. My wish is for OLED friendly and super legible black background with light grey text. The ability to adjust the font size would be a real help too. Otherwise, thanks- have had a few great scores of fresh bread and coffee beans already. Onwards and upwards Olioers, just please keep developing and keeping those of us with high resolution screens and less than 20/20 eyesight in mind.
This is the second time I've tried Olio in 12 months, no improvement: Interesting concept let down by a half-baked app and lack of decent offerings. I live in central London and the nearest items to me at just short of 2 miles away - someone offering the half used contents of her kitchen cupboard one by one. If there are so few users in London I cannot imagine this working anywhere else in Europe. On top of that, the app is slow and badly designed - back button won't exit the app, animations are jarring, there is little design consistency and doesn't follow material design (any anything else).
App easy enough to use. Just long delays of new content some days
I get what you're trying to do however the content isn't what I was expecting. Is it worth making the effort to collect - as an example : half a container of saxa salt ? I tried contacting a few people as a test and nearly all items had gone. No one was in my immediate area so to collect a few items would be time consuming. Probably suit s cyclist not someone with no mode of personal transport. I wish you well and truly hope this initiative grows to a point where the problems I feel stop me using this app are resolved. All the best guys 😁
I have used this app with great success getting bagels, 🍕 sandwiches, organic cream cheese and tomatoes all in my neighnorhood! I love it so luch I became a volunteer, yay for free food!
