Enjoy a different kind of sudoku: a detective logic puzzle where suspects take the place of numbers.
In Motive, every floor plan holds a murder mystery. Use clues about rooms, furniture, and other people to reconstruct the scene. When all suspects are in their correct positions, the one alone in the victim's room is the killer.
HOW THE MYSTERY WORKS
โข Each suspect occupies one square.
โข No two people share a row or column, including the victim.
โข Some furniture blocks a square. Use the furniture guide to check where someone can stand.
โข Every clue is true, and every case has one solution you can reach through reasoning.
A room clue may narrow the options. A clue about a nearby object may narrow them further. Cross out impossible positions, connect the evidence, and watch the solution take shape.
TOOLS FOR YOUR DEDUCTIONS
Keep statements together in your evidence notebook and mark the ones you have reviewed. Use the board's rule-out marks to track eliminated positions, undo your last move, or ask for a hint when you need help. Room and furniture guides make the crime scene easier to understand.
