Olympus Audio Controller Bluetooth Android application
Audio Controller Bluetooth connects the digital voice recorder and a smartphone over Bluetooth, enabling remote control of the digital voice recorder. Use it any way you like. It can be used in a wide range of scenarios, from music through to business.

Remote control for start/stop recording
Control the digital voice recorder remotely from a smartphone. In addition to start and stop, you can pause recording, as well as insert index marks into files while they are being recorded. You can confirm on the smartphone screen that the remote control has been correctly received by the digital voice recorder.

It can be used freely in various scenes
Use it any way you like. It can be used in various scenes, from music through to business.

Music recording
Place the digital voice recorder where it can record a good balance of sound. Without the remote control, You need to go to where the digital voice recorder is placed in order to start recording. Using Audio Controller BT makes it easy to start recording from your smartphone screen.

Field recording
Place the digital voice recorder in a location where you can't approach while recording, such as near the nest of wild birds. This enables you to start recording remotely, ensuring the record of the sound you want to capture.

Conference recording
Place the digital voice recorder where it can record the voices of all participants, such as in the middle of the table. Start recording from your smartphone. This allows well-balanced recording of all voices.

Press-conference recording
Previously, you needed to start recording using the digital voice recorder prior to the start of the press conference. This resulted in a lot of wasted recording time. This application enables you to start recording from your smartphone, allowing you to record only those parts that you need.

A positive experience but this app could benifit with some additional controls. Basically, you must set all perameters on the device then place the device for recording. The phone only has a very, very limited role. I gave four stars because it did what it said it would do. Minus one star for lack of features control to device.

One of the posts comments that the LS-P4 is not compatible with this app. That's NOT correct. I AM using this app with the P4. I've found the pairing is relatively easy and the app makes stopping and starting your recording(s) basic / easy to use which I like ! The only issue I'm working through at the moment is the distance at which the connectivity remains active. I've been trying it in a hall (about 40 ft x 40 ft) with the P4 on a table at one end. I repeatedly lost connection at what I thought was a fairly reasonable distance. NB: the hall is open with no walls to interfere with the signal. I would have given the app a 5 star rating if not to for the repeated loss of connection to the P4 Cheers, r

It's good to finally have wireless control over the dictaphone, pity there is not yet an option to automatically sync the time of the device once connected. Olympus could consider to offer the interface software as opensource to let the interface according to users need - for instance would love to add geolocation data to the audio. As nobody else is doing it, it can become a USP for the brand. It would be possible to automate processes and let the device act upon environmental triggers)
