SecureScan tells you whether a link is dangerous before you open it.
A message arrives with a link. You get about a second to decide. SecureScan makes that second count.
HOW IT WORKS
Paste a link, scan a QR code, or share a link to SecureScan from any app. You get one clear answer — Safe, Low, Medium, High or Critical — and a plain-English reason for it.
Most checks finish on your device, against a list of known-malicious addresses that ships with the app. Only links that cannot be settled on your device are sent for a cloud lookup, where around 90 security vendors weigh in through VirusTotal.
WHAT YOU GET
• Paste or type any link and check it in seconds
• Share a link to SecureScan straight from your messages, your browser or any other app — the app opens on the full report
• Scan QR codes with the camera — posters, menus, parking meters and parcels are a favourite trick
• Open a cleared link inside SecureScan, so you never lose track of the link you just checked
• A scan history, so you can look back at what you checked and what it said
• Every verdict explains itself: what was checked, what it found, and what could not be checked
WHAT IT LOOKS FOR
• Addresses on a list of known phishing and malware sites
• Brand impersonation — paypal-secure-login.xyz is not PayPal, and the address says so
• Throwaway domains, free subdomains and sign-in bait
• Redirects that end somewhere other than where the link claims
• Broken or missing encryption
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CANNOT DO
No link checker catches everything, and we would rather say so plainly. A scam page set up hours ago on a normal-looking domain may not be on any list yet. A trusted site that has been broken into still has a perfectly normal address. When SecureScan cannot reach a confident answer it says so instead of guessing, and it tells you which checks it could not run. Treat "nothing found" as exactly that, never as a guarantee.
PRIVACY
There is no account to create. We do not build a profile of you. Your scan history stays on your device. The addresses you check are not stored against your identity, because there is no identity to store them against.
If you leave the optional "Help improve SecureScan" setting switched on, the app sends anonymous counters: which check produced the answer, what the answer was, and how long it took. The address you checked is never included.
SecureScan is a link checker, not a virus scanner. It checks the address, not your files.
Check any link before you tap it. One clear answer in seconds.
