Turn a spare Android phone or tablet into a home security camera — and watch the live picture and sound on another phone or tablet, wherever you are.

CCTV Droid is a simple camera monitor with no account and no subscription. Set one device down as the camera, pair a second device to watch, and you have your own private live view of home.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Watch live video and hear live sound from the camera device
• Switch between the phone's front and back camera
• Talk back so people near the camera can hear you
• Take a photo from the camera whenever you want
• See the camera phone's battery level right on the live screen
• Works over Wi-Fi or mobile data

WATCH WITHOUT INTERNET ON THE SAME WI-FI
Once your two devices are paired, you don't even need the internet to keep watching: if both phones are on the same Wi-Fi network, the live camera keeps working on your local network. (Only the first pairing needs a connection.)

HOW TO SET IT UP
1. Install CCTV Droid on two devices and make sure both are online.
2. On the device you want as the camera, choose "Use this device as camera." A code (and a QR code) appears.
3. On your second device, choose "Use this device as monitor" and enter the code — or scan the QR code.
4. The live camera appears on your monitor device. Leave the camera device plugged in and watch from anywhere.

Newer Android versions (13 and up) add extra background and permission rules, so please follow the short instructions shown inside the app to keep the camera running smoothly.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

• Two Android devices (one as the camera, one as the monitor)
• An internet connection to pair them the first time
• The camera device kept powered on (plugged in is best for all-day use)

USE IT LAWFULLY
CCTV Droid is for watching your own home, family, pets and property. You are responsible for following the camera and recording laws where you live, including asking for any permission the law requires. It is a handy consumer tool, not a professional or life-safety security system, so please don't rely on it as your only protection.
