FRMA is a secure workforce safety and contractor location awareness app designed for enterprise use, with privacy‑first background location sharing and powerful admin controls for real‑time field oversight, greatly improving safety and awareness for both operators and field personnel performing critical activities to maintain our electrical grid.
FRMA helps utility and construction organizations onboard contractor crews, understand where they are working, and most importantly keep them safe in the field, while respecting strict privacy, security, and platform rules. Contractors can self‑onboard, share and update work status, tasks, and location during active shifts, and receive time‑critical safety warnings from internal control centers. Background location tracking ensures work crews can receive critical safety updates at all times while working.

For contractor crews

Simple self‑onboarding with company email, secure sign‑in with Okta, and role‑based access tailored to crew foremen, storm contractors, and vegetation management teams.
Clear, toggleable background location sharing that is only active while marked “Working,” with updates typically sent about every 15-30 minutes to support situational awareness and crew safety.
Network‑aware sync so location events and basic work notes are queued offline and transmitted automatically when connectivity is available.
Robust and easy to use “work management notes” and personal tasks tracking so users can capture key work items and have a basic work management system at their finger tips.
Profile management which allows Users to update their crew and contact information and set the correct association for working.

For supervisors and dispatch

Secure web admin portal for internal admins and supervisors to manage users and allowed email domains, monitor onboarding status, and see which users have been added into their crew group.
Integrated push notifications for safety alerts and warnings (for example, storm hazards or urgent instructions), including prompts when location access is disabled or restricted.
Map view which informs and allows operators to target safety notification based on weather, construction, or other maintenance activities/or local hazards
Privacy, security, and compliance

Enterprise‑grade authentication using Okta and email domain whitelisting, aligned with Apple’s expectations for secure sign‑in and account management.

Transparent permission flows that explain why location is needed, how it is used for crew safety and operational oversight, and how users can pause or disable background sharing at any time.
Designed to meet regulatory, privacy, accessibility, and platform policy guidance for background location collection, including clear in‑app privacy notices and a dedicated Privacy Policy link in the app and on the App Store listing.
