Has potential but... Currently I think it is non-intuitive (if you want to record stuff you need to go through "score"... eg). I managed to get the app to receive data after some phone rebooting. Also now i first start bt on phone, then on timer = seems to work. Suggestion: Get assistance from a skilled Android developer to solve any android-Bluetooth issues. Also, it would be nice if the app could save sessions in .cvs or excel-format. (perhaps it can already?)
Great app but I need addons I don't use IPSC/IDPA score or targets so I need you provide the chance to use customized targets and scores. For example, number of hits/misses on target area, points on a NRA B-8 target.
Needs work! Would like to see automatic multiple string recording within a set drill.Needs better blue tooth communication. Currently cannot change timer settings from app only receiving time. App should be free with timer purchase, especially while in beta.
Working But with lots of room for improvement. The logotype on the home screen isn't working which sort of set the bar for this app.
Good start, room to grow. First, make sure you update the firmware on your shotmaxx timer watch. I was afraid I might have "bricked" mine when I paired it with my phone and clicked the start session button. Nothing I could do besides flashing the latest firmware would wake it. Latest updater and firmware are available at http://www.doublealpha.biz/shotmaxx-shot-timer.htm Second, set up your shooters and drills. You'll need one of each (at least) before you can start a session and record times. I would have preferred a simpler interface to just pair and start recording strings, but this works too. Scoring options seem to be limited to only USPSA Major/Minor ABCD, etc. No option to use IDPA points-down style as of yet. Lastly, the large "Shotmaxx Trainer" graphic on the main page disappears, leaving a large section of the interface blank and useless. It still functions, but makes the app seem broken/unfinished. If you have a Shotmaxx timer, this is a great addition and fixes the one problem I had with the watch... no history of recorded strings past the last recorded one. I look forward to future updates!
