Effortlessly keep a digital record of your hours spent outside with the Official 1000 Hours Outside app. Easy timer functionality - just open the app and click play to start the timer, then put the phone down and enjoy the outdoors! The app will track your time in the background so you don't have to think about it.


Additionally, you can become a member so you can:

I've really enjoyed the idea of this app, but I really wish it was more multiple child friendly. it really wouldn't be that hard to make it so you can see multiple children on the calendar instead of just seeing the main child. I like to track each kids outside time so they can kind of compete but then we cant compare their hours per day. I think I will cancel my subscription for this app until it is better for homes with multiple kids

honestly my only beef with this is that it has to be connected to data/wifi in order to save the time. we were out hiking and even though I turned stopped the timer when we got back to the car, it wasn't until we were almost home (aka when we got service again) that it was finally able to save the time. I get needing to be on to update and whatnot, but it would be nice if it could save without wifi/data.

This app is pretty much useless without buying the membership, which is not inexpensive. I had to try for WEEKS just to be able to create an account, and even once it finally worked it wouldn't allow me to sign up with google and only allowed manual sign up. literally every feature is paid--the map, coloring tracker, badges, adding photos or journal entries to a day's adventures, even adding in hours that previously happened (even the same day!) without having started the timer first. frustratin
