About this game

Mahjong Quest takes the classic tile-matching game and lays it over a treasure map. Clear a board, move a step further along the map, and open the next region. Hundreds of layouts, no clock running, and it all works with no connection at all.

CLASSIC MAHJONG SOLITAIRE RULES

A tile is free when it has an open side and nothing stacked on top. Match two identical free tiles to remove them, and keep going until the board is empty. No dice, no shuffling, no luck of the draw — everything you need is already in front of you.

A QUEST ACROSS A TREASURE MAP

Every board you clear moves you along the map and unlocks the next area. The layouts get denser and the buried tiles get harder to reach as you go, so the journey has a shape rather than being an endless list of levels.

HUNDREDS OF LAYOUTS

From the classic turtle to towers, pyramids and dragons. Each arrangement changes which tiles open up first and which ones you should be saving. Some are a five-minute break, some take three attempts.

FIVE DIFFICULTY LEVELS

Start gentle and work up, or jump straight to the hard boards. The difficulty is in the layout, never in a countdown.

HINTS, SHUFFLE AND UNDO

Out of moves? Shuffle the remaining tiles and carry on. Use a hint when you cannot spot the pair, and undo as often as you like. Nothing punishes you for trying something.

NO TIMERS, NO PRESSURE

There is no clock counting down and nothing locking you out. Look at the board for as long as you want. Regular play sharpens memory, concentration and visual scanning, and it is one of the calmest puzzle games there is.

PLAYS FULLY OFFLINE

No internet connection needed for anything. Play on a flight, on the underground, or anywhere with no signal at all.

Download Mahjong Quest and start clearing your way across the map.

Too many ads! So I downloaded because I saw no mention of the ads which last longer than the lower level games. After 3 games, I uninstalled. I didn't really get far enough in to find out if the app is enjoyable. My suggestion, allow players to get through "beginner" level before starting the ads. I know the ads are a necessity. However, there's nothing enjoyable about spending 2/3 of your time on an app waiting for the same useless ads to play through.

This is a great free 2 play game and it didn't require wifi to play. I loved the different tile and background options. The puzzles were randomly generated, so all you have to do is focus on is matching the tiles. This made the app very easy and relaxing to play. However, after the most recent update, I have not been able to receive gifts or advance past lvl 60 on normal. I have played this level a few times now and it shows the time, but won't give me credit to progress to hard. I'm stuck. 😕

the only complaint: when you get through the five worlds, 60 games each- the only new puzzles are the 1 daily. I still enjoy playing the others, trying to beat the time...but after you've solved all the games, you no longer earn hints. Which can be frustrating, because I'm NOT going to buy them.
