About this app

The ACR OLAS App turns your smartphone or tablet into a Man Overboard Alarm system that aids fast recovery to rescue your crew, kids, pets who have gone overboard. When the Free app is paired with either the ACR OLAS TAG or the ACR OLAS FLOAT-ON beacons, the OLAS mobile application technology detects a break in its ‘virtual tether’ to the ACR OLAS Tag and/or Float-On within 8 seconds of a transmitter going missing. The mobile phone(s) then sounds an alarm and records the latitude and longitude of the incident using the phone or tablets GPS. ACR OLAS then aids the crew with the MOB recovery by clearly directing them to the GPS location where the MOB occurred with clear visual signals and bearing data. ACR OLAS stores all location data and time of incident required by the rescue services.

Issue: Connection may be lost between the OLAS App and the CORE or GUARDIAN if an EXTENDER is used.
Please note the EXTENDER can continue to be used if the OLAS App is not required beyond the initial setup. Connection between the CORE or GUARDIAN and the EXTENDER is not affected.

Ratings and reviews

Generally good, range of the tags to my phone is barely adequate for my 38 foot boat. Lots of false alarms. Worst feature: the app turns off Bluetooth on my phone when you exit it. Happens on several phones we've tried it on. Disconnects my watch and headphones, not cool.

I liked the app but it is not currently working with Android 11. Hope it gets fixed soon!
