🛰️ Background GPS tracking (required for private hire activity)

When you activate "Online" mode in the app, ONLY VTC Chauffeur continuously transmits your GPS location to our dispatch system, even when the app is running in the background or the screen is locked. This tracking is essential for the application to function and allows you to:

• Receive ride requests in real time from passengers located near your position
• Allow passengers to track your location in real time before and during the ride (a legal requirement for ride-hailing services in France)
• Optimize ride allocation using our dispatch algorithm

A persistent system notification remains displayed in the Android status bar for the duration of the tracking, clearly indicating that location tracking is active. You can stop this tracking at any time by simply tapping the "Offline" button in the application: the notification disappears immediately, and no further location data is transmitted.

Without this background GPS tracking, the application cannot function: no rides will be assigned to you when the application is minimized.
