WBMSCL is wholly owned by the Government of West Bengal, functions under the administrative control of the Health & Family Welfare Department to the Government of West Bengal. Being the implementing agency of Department of Health & Family Welfare, it ensured different activities like design and construction, repair, renovation and maintenance of Hospitals, Medical Colleges & Hospitals and other healthcare infrastructure of the Health & Family Welfare Department and also offers procurement services to the Government. Installation and maintenance of Medical Gas Pipeline Supply also comes under the purview of WBMSCL. Though WBMSCL started its journey on 4th June 2008, its full-fledged activities actually started from the financial year 2012-13. Activities of WBMSCL may be broadly categorized into: Civil, Electrical infrastructure works, O&M of assigned Health Facilities, Procurement and maintenance of High End Bio-Medical Equipment and Installation of Medical Oxygen Facilities.
