About this app

OnPoint Installer is the app OnPoint's engineers and approved installation partners use to fit and commission telematics hardware on trailers and vehicles.

Work through a job card step by step: photograph the load plate, the fleet number and the installed unit, record notes from site, run the unit's self-test, take the customer's signature and sign the job off.

Test a unit over Bluetooth. Pick a unit near you and run its self-test straight from your phone or tablet, with the unit's live data beside the test. Units near you are checked against your stock, and the Tools section tests any unit, with or without a job card.

See the vehicle's history. Its earlier job cards and what its devices have reported are on the job card, so you know what you are walking up to.

Reading the device is quick. Point the camera at the unit and the app reads its identity off the label while you take the photo you were taking anyway. Search for hardware by part of its IMEI instead of typing all fifteen digits. If a device is coming off the vehicle, say where it is going and the app books it back into stock for you.

It works with a poor signal. Job cards and progress are held on the device and sent when the connection comes back, so a yard with no bars does not stop the job.

What’s new

Pull down on the job card list to refresh it, even when it is empty. While a self-test runs over Bluetooth, the app shows how strong the Bluetooth signal to the unit is, and says to move closer when it is weak. Signing in as a different person no longer shows the last person's job cards. The message that popped up when a test finished has gone, and Complete now completes the job without asking first.
