Turn any ELM327 adapter into an intelligent diagnostic system. OBDAI combines live vehicle data with ARIA, an automotive reasoning agent that explains results in plain English and creates professional reports you can share with a mechanic, customer, or buyer.

NEW CARS NEED A NEW STANDARD: OBDonUDS (SAE J1979-2)

Some 2025 and 2026 cars already answer only through SAE J1979-2 OBDonUDS, and for 2027 models the transition is mandatory. Many OBD2 scanners and code readers cannot test them yet. OBDAI detects an OBDonUDS vehicle automatically and gives you the same workflow you use today: fault codes (DTCs) with enhanced DTC records, emissions readiness by monitor group, freeze-frame snapshots, vehicle information, and live data. ARIA reads the new evidence the way she reads everything else. Ask the whole vehicle, not one code. OBDonUDS is included with PRO and requires the OBD BLE GEN2 Bluetooth adapter.

MONITOR TESTS (MODE 6)

Read the self-tests your engine computer runs on the catalyst, O2 sensors, EVAP, EGR, misfire systems, and more. OBDAI decodes the vehicle's real measurements with its own pass/fail limits, organized by ECU. No invented health scores.

TRENDS ACROSS DRIVES

ARIA remembers Monitor Test results with each inspection. Ask whether a catalyst or sensor test is getting worse and ARIA compares the same test across your recorded drives.

DRIVE-CYCLE INTELLIGENCE

OBDAI reads in-use performance and since-clear counters. ARIA can explain whether the evidence comes from one new drive cycle or thousands of monitoring opportunities—and flag the near-zero since-clear history that can indicate recently erased codes during a used-car inspection.

HANDS-FREE ARIA

Talk continuously while ARIA listens, answers aloud, and listens again. Push-to-talk is also available, with recognition tuned for automotive vocabulary.

PHOTO-AWARE DIAGNOSTICS

Send up to five photos per message: warning lights, VIN plates, leaks, parts, invoices, multimeter readings, or scope waveforms. ARIA can ask for a photo when seeing the problem would help.

ARIA REMEMBERS

Ask follow-up questions without repeating the story. Vehicle memory preserves prior findings and inspections. ARIA can combine live telematics, freeze-frame data, photos, and history.

Works with ELM327 Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB adapters across CAN, ISO 15765, KWP2000, ISO 9141, and J1850. The vehicle protocol is re-discovered on every connect, including after a mid-drive disconnect.

I must admit I never thought about adding an ai system to the app, very innovative. App is well thought out, graphically pleasing, and easy to use by non-automotively inclined users. I recommend this app for all cars. However there is 1 little graphical design issue. I recommend hiding the navigation and notification bars while the app is open. I had this issue with some of my early apps. It is an easy fix.

Error 404 everywhere. Nothing worked.

NEW: OBDonUDS (SAE J1979-2) beta - the newest vehicles no longer speak classic OBD2; OBDAI detects them automatically (OBDAI GEN2 adapter + Pro). ARIA understands the new data. FIXED: telling ARIA your VIN now sticks when the car does not report one; junk VINs from old ECUs are no longer stored; ARIA history no longer fails for sessions without a model year; voice mode keeps the mic closed for the whole answer; connections are re-discovered on every connect.
