Hazard orbs are bouncing across the training ground and you carry a limited number of stakes. Each one shoots into the ceiling and becomes a live wire for five seconds, splitting every orb that crosses it. Plant it in the right place and one stake does the work of three. Plant it badly and you run dry.
Orb Ops is a tactical arcade puzzle in which planning counts for more than firing speed.
How to play
1. Move your operator with the arrow pads, or drag across the field.
2. Tap Plant to shoot a stake into the ceiling. It stays alive as a wire for five seconds, and two can be alive at once.
3. Every orb that crosses a live wire splits, not just the first one.
4. Freshly split orbs carry a blue shield for a moment and pass through wires unharmed.
5. Stakes are limited. Run out with orbs still up, or take three hits, and the mission fails.
Thirty missions are spread across three theaters of ten: Boot Camp with slow orbs on open ground, Desert Storm with fast orbs across the dunes, and Orbital Strike with low gravity and long, high arcs. Each theater ends with a heavy-orb mission, and completing seven missions opens the next one. Three chevrons go to a mission completed without a hit and with two or more stakes to spare. Holdout keeps the orbs coming, heavier every few waves, with a resupply of three stakes each wave and ranks from Private at wave 5 to Commander at wave 20.
Missions earn merits for the quartermaster, who issues six operators, from Rookie to Ace, and four wire colors such as Arctic Blue and Red Laser. Twelve decorations recognize feats like Untouched and Thrifty, which asks you to finish with four stakes to spare. A left-handed layout puts the Plant button on the other side.
Orb Ops is fully offline, with no login, no adverts and no in-app purchases.
