CliQ is Jordan’s national instant payment system, launched in June 2020 by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC).
It facilitates real-time money transfers between bank accounts and mobile wallets across participating banks in Jordan.
As of now, all banks in Jordan are connected to CliQ.
Key Features of CliQ :
• 24/7 Availability
• Instant Transfers: Funds are transferred in real-time between bank accounts and mobile wallets
• Multiple Payment Addressing Modes: Users can send and receive money using aliases such as names, mobile numbers or IBANs.
• Transaction Limits: The maximum value per transaction is JOD 10,000, though individual banks may set lower limits or daily caps.
• Enhanced Security Features:
• Payee Confirmation: Displays the recipient’s full name before completing a transfer to reduce errors.
• Confirmation of Receipt: Notifies the sender once the transfer is successfully delivered.
• Additional Services:
• Request to Pay: Allows users to send payment requests to others, who can then accept or reject the request.
• Return Payments: Enables recipients to return payments, either partially or in full, without initiating another transfer.
• QR Code Payments: Facilitates on-the-spot payments at merchants by scanning QR codes through bank apps.
Usage and Adoption: CliQ has seen significant adoption in Jordan. In the first two months of 2025, the system processed over 20 million transactions totaling JD2.61 billion. As of February 2025, the user base reached 1.74 million, with the majority being Jordanians.
Making a Transfer:
• Access the CliQ Application:
• Enter the recipient’s alias, mobile number or IBAN.
• Input the amount to transfer.
• Verify the recipient’s details displayed.
• Confirm the transaction using your pass-code or OTP.
• Receive a notification upon successful transfer.
