Why turn off the microphone:
1. Prevent background applications from collecting user privacy data through the microphone;
2. Quickly record a video without sound;
3. This function does not affect the phone function;

I tried to mute permanently and locked the app. I noticed however that WhatsApp was capable to Unmute before recording an audio message. I visibly saw the mute switch turned off by it. Then I remembered that I did not give MuteMic itself microphone permission, but I noticed eventually that giving it that permission will not improve anything. I therefore lower my score even more. It is only useful as a more easily reachable mute switch when you need it.

I wish the developer would have made their icon shift from red to green so it's easy to determine whather the mic is on or off.

Straight forward app. open it up, select mute, close app. microphone is now muted. Could be more convenient by adding a widget at some point to just tap on the home tile.
