Our Plan keeps your household's preparedness plan in one shared place — meeting places, the people and pets on the plan, outside contacts, and what's in everyone's go bags — and shows public safety information from official federal sources for the places you save.
Our Plan is an independent app. It does not represent a government or political entity, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. The public safety information it shows is published by the agencies listed under "Where the information comes from" below, each named on screen with a link to the agency's own page.
ORGANIZE
• Meeting places everyone can find, plus an out-of-area fallback
• Go bags and car kits as checklists you tick off as you pack
• Medical notes and medications for each person, visible only to your household
• Works offline — your plan lives on your phone and syncs when you're back
STAY INFORMED
• Today's weather, air quality and pollen for where each of you is
• Watches, warnings and advisories from the National Weather Service, earthquakes from USGS, wildfires from NIFC, air quality from EPA AirNow and tsunami information from NOAA — with the source named on screen and a link to the agency that issued it
• Notifications when a hazard is issued for a place your household saves
COORDINATE
• See where your household is and when each person last checked in
• Let everyone know you're OK with one check-in — as your neighborhood or exactly, your choice
• Reach your outside contacts when you need to
WHERE THE INFORMATION COMES FROM
Every piece of public safety information in Our Plan is published by one of these agencies. The app names the source on screen and links to the agency's own page so you can verify it there:
• National Weather Service — watches, warnings, advisories and forecasts: https://www.weather.gov
• U.S. Geological Survey — earthquakes: https://earthquake.usgs.gov
• EPA AirNow — air quality: https://www.airnow.gov
• NOAA Tsunami Warning Center — tsunami messages: https://www.tsunami.gov
• National Interagency Fire Center — wildfire information: https://www.nifc.gov
• FEMA — disaster declarations and open shelters: https://www.fema.gov
• Ready.gov — preparedness guidance: https://www.ready.gov
Outside the United States, forecasts come from Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com) and pollen from the Google Pollen API. Neither is a government source, and the app names them on screen where they are used.
Our Plan does not represent a government or political entity. It is an organizational and informational tool — not an emergency response service, and not a substitute for 911. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
MEMBERSHIP
Our Plan is free for one person and their pets. A membership adds everyone else your plan covers, and sending check-ins to your outside contacts.
