About this app

⚠️ IMPORTANT — OverTrail SOS is NOT an official emergency service.
The SOS feature only pushes a notification to other OverTrail users in
your area (peer-to-peer over Firebase Cloud Messaging). Messages are
NOT delivered to police, ambulance, mountain rescue, or any official
dispatcher. For medical emergencies or serious accidents, ALWAYS call
112 BEFORE using OverTrail SOS.

OverTrail RO is built for off-road drivers in Romania and the surrounding
Carpathian region — forest roads, 4×4 trails, mountain expeditions,
overland camping. Offline OSM maps, turn-by-turn navigation via OSRM,
a trusted community.

🗺️ OFFLINE MAPS
• Download OSM regions as large as you want; works in airplane mode.
• Four styles: Standard, Topographic, Overland (shaded relief),
Satellite.
• No artificial cap on size — limited only by your storage.

🛰️ GPS TRACK RECORDING
• Foreground-service recording (keeps logging with the screen off).
• Direct GPX export from the saved-tracks history screen.
• Import GPX files from other apps / devices.
• Replay any track on the map with altitude + speed.

📍 COMMUNITY POIs (camping, springs, viewpoints, refuges, tyre repair)
• Add your own spots + descriptions.
• See everything other users have placed nearby.
• Community moderation: 3 unique reports auto-hide a POI.

🚧 HAZARD REPORTS (4-hour TTL)
• Deep ruts, fallen trees, landslides, sheepdogs, barriers, bears,
mud sections.
• Realtime — other users see them on their maps within seconds.
• "Still here" community confirms extend the lifetime; ≥ 3 reports =
auto-resolved.

🆘 COMMUNITY SOS
• Select the kind of help you need (winch, mechanical, fuel, community
medical assist).
• Push notification to all OverTrail users in your nearby geohash cell.
• See the disclaimer at the top — this does NOT replace 112.

🚙 CONVOY (up to 12 vehicles)
• 6-character shareable code.
• See other members' live positions on the map.
• Background location with a transparent foreground service +
persistent "STOP SHARING" notification.
• Auto-stops after 2 hours of background use.

📊 OFF-ROAD DASHBOARD
• Inclinometer with vehicle silhouette.
• 100%-on-device storm alert (Garmin-style 3.5 hPa drop detection).
• Tyre-pressure calculator per terrain type.

🔒 PRIVACY
• Anonymous sign-in — no email, no password, no phone number.
• No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs beyond Firebase Cloud
