A GPS speedometer that times 0-100 and braking with just your phone. Pick a target speed and the app catches the start and finish; every result is kept with speed and G graphs and numbered runs. Each run stores the GPS conditions it was made under, so you know how far to trust it. Day to day, it is a needle speedometer that reads 0 when you park.
■ Acceleration and braking — target speed and beeps
Both runs use a target speed you choose (20, 40, 60, 80, 100 or any value from 10 to 200 km/h).
· Acceleration: a beep when you pull away, a double beep at the target.
· Braking: a long beep at the target, timing starts the moment you drop below it, a double beep when you stop.
The app catches the start and finish itself, so you never press a button while moving. Speeding up during a braking run cancels it. Sounds can be turned off.
■ One ad strip at the top, nothing else
No full-screen ads anywhere, so you never touch the screen to close one while driving. The only ad is a fixed strip at the top, so the screen never jumps when you pull away or stop. The HUD has none.
■ It reads zero when you are parked
GPS noise invents 2-3 km/h even when the car is standing still. DashMeter filters it, detects a real stop, points to zero, and does not add a single metre to the trip.
■ Speed and G graphs
Each result shows time and distance with speed and G graphs on one time axis. G comes from the phone's accelerometer — any mounting direction works as long as the phone is fixed. Without the sensor it is derived from GPS and labelled so.
■ Test names and numbered runs
Name a test ("My car", "Track day") and its runs are numbered #1, #2, #3 automatically. Add a note to each run and compare best and average on the run bars. History is grouped by test name.
■ Measurement conditions are recorded
Every run is stored with its GPS update rate and accuracy and the sensor used for G, and the result screen shows them, so you always know what a number was measured under.
■ GPS quality — can you trust this number?
GPS quality is graded by the weakest of speed error, position error, update rate and satellites in use. Tap the icon for a satellite sky map and signal strengths. A run will not start on a weak signal, and a lost signal shows "No signal" instead of a stale speed.
■ This drive
A drive starts when you pull away and is saved when you stay stopped for 5, 10 or 30 minutes, close the app, or end it yourself while stopped. The drive detail shows a speed graph and your stops.
■ HUD mode
Mirror the display, put the phone on the dashboard, and read your speed off the windscreen. No ads on this screen.
■ Your location never leaves this device
It is used only to compute speed and is never sent to a server. Records stay on the device. No account, no sign-in.
■ Features
· Needle-gauge speedometer (km/h / mph)
· Stop detection — zero when stopped, odometer paused
· Acceleration and braking runs — target speed, beeps
· Speed and G graphs, test names, numbered runs, notes
· GPS quality, satellite sky map, signal strength
· Automatic drive log with drive detail
· HUD (mirrored) mode
· 34 languages, dark mode and system theme
■ Everything is free
No feature is locked, and there is no purchase, subscription or account. The app is paid for by the banner at the top — the HUD carries none.
■ Notes
· This app is for reference and does not replace your vehicle's instrument cluster.
· Do not look at the screen while driving. Use interactive features only when stopped.
· Only take measurements in a safe place and within traffic laws.
· Accuracy depends on GPS conditions (tunnels, underground, urban canyons).
· Location permission is required and is used only while the app is open (no background tracking).
