Ratings and reviews

This game requires a lot of commitment, but I don't mind it. It took me 108 days to Ultra Ascend, and it was worth it. I rarely play a mobile game for this long, but this one has me hooked. I recommend new players focus on getting souls, as they are the most important resource. My only actual complaint is that the boost and shop buttons swap sides between Landscape and Portrait

Pros: Simple & enjoyable gameplay. Some coin builds up even when the app is closed. Love the pixel art style. Music is great. Could listen to it for hours. 👍🏻 Cons: There is an unlock for the occasional boss mob, but when I'm not in the default "green hills" level, those boss mobs do not seem to spawn. Doing the "reset to unlock certain perks" feels a bit harsh, because certain features (like the dash) are locked behind upgrades that I just reset. Overall: Recommend!

Came back after a couple years away and the first thing I encounter is this grapple section. I remember when this was first done, I thought "obviously this is experimental, they'll fix it soon"... Years later, and no. Dashing backwards, getting stuck on geometry that literally doesn't make sense (stuck on a 45d slope). Then, grappling behind you because you miss the tiny dash button?? Infuriating. I'm tempted to write the entire game off because of this buggy mess.
