About this app
The Palms Commons is a quiet daily read for Indian Palms in Indio. Association notices, what's on at Hangar 19, events around the Palms and the valley, and the week's weather, gathered in one place.
WHAT'S IN IT
• Stories: each association notice summed up in plain words, with the key dates and the original a tap away.
• The Commons Monthly: the month written up like a paper, with what the boards decided.
• Hangar 19: the day's specials and the week's music and events at the club.
• Events: meetings, closures and deadlines around the Palms, and ticketed events within about 25 miles.
• Weather: the week ahead for Indian Palms, with heat, rain and air quality, and National Weather Service warnings at the top.
• The Halloween map: homes giving out treats, and ones worth a look. Add your own for October 31.
• The holiday golf cart parade: watch the lead cart on the map and see when it reaches your street, on the lock screen too.
• Search: everything is searched on the phone, so it works with no signal.
• A community calendar: add upcoming meetings and events to a calendar of their own on your phone.
NOTIFICATIONS, ONLY WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING TO SAY
Safety alerts, weather warnings, association notices, day-of reminders and what's new at the Hangar. You choose which ones. Most weeks, nothing at all.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. It is not official. The Commons is independent. It is not run by your association or by the club.
2. A computer writes the summaries. It can get a date, an amount, or who is affected wrong.
3. Check before you act. Money, a deadline or a rule? Read the association's own notice. Most stories link straight to it.
NO ACCOUNTS AND NO ADS
There is nothing to sign up for, and no advertising or tracking. The app asks for your location only on the parade and Halloween maps, and only when you tap a button that asks.
Also on iPhone and iPad.

What’s new
New readers get three short welcome pages and then three setup steps: pick your associations, choose which notifications you want before Android asks, and see a summary. Open the welcome pages any time under More, About, Welcome. Stories opens like a front page, with headlines by week and month. Story, event and Hangar 19 pages share one layout with Add to Calendar. Events are grouped by day, and Hangar 19 opens on tonight's menu. Many smaller fixes.
