Out under a dark sky you do not want a bright screen wrecking your night vision just to note what you saw. This log runs in a deep red night mode so you can record an observation without losing your dark adaptation.

For each session, rate the seeing and transparency from one to five and write down what you observed and the conditions. A built-in Messier checklist of all one hundred and ten objects tracks how far through the list you have worked, and your progress is there whenever you want to plan the next night out.
