About this game

Euchre is the trick-taking partnership game of the American Midwest and Ontario: a 24 card deck, four seats, five tricks a hand, and a trump suit decided by bidding. This app gives you that table against three computer opponents, any time, with no connection needed.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW THE RULES FIRST

A nine step interactive tutorial deals you a real hand and walks you through it — the short deck, the two bowers, ordering up, going alone, and how the points are counted. After that the game keeps explaining itself while you play:

- The trump strip above the table always shows the order from the right bower down, and dims what has already been played.
- Tap a card you cannot legally play and a sentence tells you why, instead of the tap simply doing nothing.
- Every hand ends with a plain summary: who made the contract, and what it scored.

THE LEFT BOWER, MADE OBVIOUS

The rule that catches out almost every newcomer is the left bower: the Jack of the same colour joins the trump suit and stops counting as a card of its printed suit. Here it is labelled on the card itself and in the ranking strip, for the whole hand.

WHERE THE ADS SIT

A banner sits on the menu screens. A full screen ad can appear only when a whole game is over, on the way into the next one — never between hands, never between tricks, and never during the tutorial.

WHERE THE DEAL COMES FROM

The shuffle comes from a seed shown on screen, so a hand can be dealt again. The computer opponents read only their own cards, the up-card and the cards that have been played; they cannot see your hand or the kitty.

Everything runs on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing to wait for between deals. A quick game preset takes about ten minutes.

What’s new

Fixed: the previous trick could stay on the table after it was won, hiding the trick in progress and delaying the computer players.
