About this app

Charge Pro 2.0 is used as a remote display and operation panel for the relevant solar charge controller (an external or inbuilt BT module is required for usage). By operation on this APP, you can check the status of PV, battery, DC load for the solar DC charge system with charge controller. This APP is also an upgraded version of PVChargePro.

We have 3 main pages of operations in ChargePro 2.0. The first page is for displaying the status of the system, the 2nd page is for displaying the historical data, the last page is for displaying the parameters for settings, and we also have 2 slide menus for displaying the device information and BT connection. Except for showing the present system information, we also can set the parameters for the charge controllers in the parameter setting pages, like for battery type, battery charge & discharge voltages, load mode settings and etc.

Comparing to the old version of PV Charge Pro, we have improved ChargePro 2.0 with some new points:

1. Add function of "force equalize charge" to battery
2. Add function of "DC load short-circuit protection" switch
3. Add function of "equalize charge interval" setting
4. Add function of "historical data diagram" switch

I love the idea of all the features, but they are not all working well. 1. If i loose connection via bluetooth, i must close and restart the app to get connected again. 2. Daily statistics start the day with yesterday's data. I can't figure out when it resets if at all. It seem to be a running total of the last 24 hours updated by the minute, which is a strange way to report the data. 3. Deleting the statistics and resetting to default, does not delete the last 24 hrs of data, again, strange.

The stats are great to follow. However, trying to connect via bluetooth is horrible. I have to try to connect maybe 6-8 times, sometimes having to restart multiple times before it connects. And as soon as I walk away just to the next room, it loses connection. Not even 20 feet away. I love using it, I just give up on it if it takes too long to connect.

Great app simple and straightforward. Some have asked why it needs location. Location is required by the Android Bluetooth stack. This is not up to the app developer. The only complaint I have is that I must find and connect the bt device each time I run it. It would be nice to have an option to auto connect to the last connected device by address. When leaving app without disconnecting from Bluetooth it will not reconnect until app is removed from memory.
