The app makes zero outbound network connections of its own. Your documents never leave your phone. The only network use is for Play Store in-app update
prompts, handled by Google Play Services itself.

Private by default
No sign-up, no email, no analytics, no third-party trackers, no advertising IDs. The app cannot leak what it does not collect.

Real encryption for sensitive files
The Vault uses AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption. The key is wrapped by the Android Keystore, which is hardware-backed on most modern devices, meaning
the key cannot be extracted even by a rooted attacker.

PERMISSIONS

Paperly uses storage, media, and camera permissions only when you actively choose a file or start a scan. The notification permission is used for batch
progress only. Internet permission is used only by Google Play for in-app updates; the release build blocks plaintext HTTP entirely.
