Pasidmo — Contactless ID & Passport Verification

PasIDmo reads the secure NFC chip inside your passport or electronic ID card and checks that you are the person shown in the document by matching the chip photo to a live selfie — completely on your device.

No accounts. No servers. No tracking. Your data never leaves your device.

HOW IT WORKS

Scan the MRZ — Point your camera at the machine-readable lines at the bottom of your document.
Read the chip — Hold your phone against the document so PasIDmo can read its contactless (NFC) chip.
Liveness check — Follow a few short on-screen prompts (turn your head, blink, smile) to confirm a real, live person.
Face match — PasIDmo compares the photo stored on the chip with your selfie and shows you the result.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

Privacy is the foundation of PasIDmo:
• All processing happens on your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.
• Biometric data is never written to storage and is discarded as soon as your session ends.
• No advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no tracking.
• No account, email or phone number required to use the app.

SUPPORTED DOCUMENTS

• Biometric (ICAO 9303) ePassports issued by around 180 countries
• NFC-enabled national ID cards, including EU ID cards issued under EU Regulation 2019/1157 and the Turkish ID card

Whether a specific document can be read depends on its chip type and the data it exposes to standard readers.

REQUIREMENTS

• An Android phone with NFC
• A camera, for scanning the MRZ and taking the selfie
• A supported NFC electronic passport or ID card

ROADMAP & PARTNERSHIPS

We are actively developing PasIDmo beyond a standalone app. A key direction on our roadmap is to turn a successful, user-consented verification into a privacy-preserving derived identity credential — a reusable, tamper-evident proof of a completed check that can serve as a trusted KYC (Know Your Customer) source for third-party applications, without re-sharing the underlying biometric data.
