WHAT THIS APP IS
Ontario security guard test practice covering the twelve sections of the provincial training syllabus, which is published without a question bank. This is an ontario security guard practice test you can run section by section, with results kept per section.
WHAT YOU GET
- 1,201 practice questions across all 12 syllabus sections, from the Private Security and Investigative Services Act to use of force theory.
- An explanation on every question: why the correct choice is correct, and why the others are not.
- Statute and regulation citations on the answers, so you learn where each rule comes from.
- Full-length timed mock exam in the app: 60 questions in 75 minutes, scored against the 62 per cent line.
- 60 study notes summarising the key topics in each syllabus section.
- 215 flashcards for the definitions and authorities you must recall cold.
- Works offline once downloaded. No account, no sign-up.
- Section-by-section results, so you can review where you are weakest before you book.
WHY THE LAW IS CITED ON EVERY ANSWER
Legal authorities and the Code of Conduct run through the syllabus. Each explanation names the source it relies on: PSISA and O. Reg. 363/07 for conduct, the Trespass to Property Act for arrest, the Criminal Code for defence of property, OHSA for workplace duties. Security guard exam prep that gives you only a letter leaves you nothing to reason from.
INCLUDES THE 2025 TRESPASS AMENDMENTS
The Trespass to Property Act was amended by 2025, c. 5, Schedule 2, in force 5 June 2025 - sections 1, 2 and 9: definitions, aggravating factors and re-entry, arrest and custody. Legal authorities material reflects that amended text; check e-Laws for changes made after that date.
THE TWELVE SYLLABUS SECTIONS
Introduction to the security industry. PSISA and Code of Conduct. Basic security procedures. Report writing. Health and safety. Emergency response preparation. Canadian legal system and evidence. Legal authorities. Effective communications. Sensitivity training. Use of force theory. Emergency-level first aid.
ABOUT THE FIRST AID SECTION
Section twelve covers the licensing and workplace requirement - who must hold certification, and what a workplace must provide. It does not teach clinical skills, is no substitute for hands-on certification, and is not medical or legal advice.
HOW THE LICENCE TEST WORKS
The ministry publishes the test as a written, multiple-choice paper with a cut score of 62 per cent. Testing is delivered by Serco Canada Inc. on the ministry's behalf, and appointment length, fees and results are set there. The study guide and the testing provider currently state different timings, so check both below before booking.
FREE PREVIEW AND PRICING
The first eight questions in every section are free, with explanations. Unlocking is a one-time purchase - no subscription, no ads, no upsells.
