About this app

Save a location, follow the compass and find your way back with PathPin.

PathPin is an offline GPS return-navigation app that helps you return to a parked car, campsite, trail entrance, meeting point, building entrance or any other location you want to remember.

Save a Pin for direct GPS and compass guidance, or record a Route when retracing the path itself matters. No mobile data, account or downloaded map is required to navigate to locations already saved on your device.

SAVE A LOCATION

Pin your current GPS location and see its estimated accuracy before saving. Give the Pin a memorable name and add an optional note.

When you want to return, select the saved Pin and follow the compass arrow. PathPin displays the direction, live distance and current GPS accuracy while guiding you back.

USE PATHPIN TO FIND

• Your parked car in a large parking area
• A campsite, trailhead or fishing spot
• The entrance to a building, venue or event
• A meeting point or pickup location
• A viewpoint, dock or outdoor landmark
• Any GPS location you want to visit again

RECORD AND RETRACE A ROUTE

Sometimes the path you travelled matters more than a direct line to the destination.

Record an outward Route and PathPin will save available GPS breadcrumbs along the way. You can also tag memorable Spots such as doors, turns, lifts, stairs, pillars, gates and junctions.

When returning, follow the recorded GPS route and saved Spots in reverse. This can be helpful when GPS becomes limited or when the original path is safer than walking directly toward the destination.

OFFLINE GPS AND COMPASS NAVIGATION

PathPin uses your phone's GPS, compass and motion sensors. Saved Pins and Routes remain available without mobile data or an internet connection.

No map download is required. The app provides a clear directional arrow, distance information and visible GPS-quality status.

GPS QUALITY YOU CAN SEE

PathPin shows the estimated accuracy of your current GPS position before you save a Pin and while you navigate.

Location quality can improve after GPS is turned on. PathPin communicates whether the location is approximate, improving or ready so you can decide when to save it.

SHARE YOUR LOCATION

Copy your current latitude and longitude or share your coordinates through WhatsApp, SMS, email and other installed Android apps.

• Add optional local voice notes to Spots
• Replay voice notes while returning

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

PathPin does not require an account.

Pins, Routes, GPS breadcrumbs, Spot names and optional voice notes are stored locally on your device. PathPin does not include advertising or analytics in this version.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

GPS and compass readings can be affected by buildings, parking garages, terrain, weather, metal, magnets, electronics and device hardware.

Direct compass guidance points toward a saved location but does not know about roads, walls, water, cliffs, restricted areas or other obstacles.

PathPin is a return-navigation aid. It is not a replacement for official maps, marked trails, emergency services, safety equipment or your own judgment.
