Look up – and know exactly what is flying past.
AirRadar shows you every aircraft, glider and helicopter around you as it happens – on a classic radar scope or an interactive map.
LIVE RADAR
The pulsing sweep refreshes every 10 seconds. Altitude, heading, speed and flight path at a glance. Altitude colouring tells you immediately whether a machine is on final approach or settled at cruise.
MAP VIEW
Switch between radar and map, airports near you included. Tap an aircraft for the details: type, airline, country of registration, photo and planned route. When several targets sit close together, the app asks which one you meant.
MORE THAN AIRLINERS
Thanks to the Open Glider Network you also see gliders, hang gliders, balloons and powered light aircraft – not just the big scheduled jets. Military traffic is recognised and can be shown or hidden on its own.
AIRCRAFT COLLECTION
Collect aircraft types like a logbook. From the Cessna 172 to the Airbus A380, 103 types across 10 albums are waiting to be found. Every sighting is recorded automatically with photo, date and flight data. Complete an album and it earns a gold badge.
AIRLINE COLLECTION
The same idea for carriers: 59 airlines across 6 albums, from the European scheduled fleets to the freighters that cross overhead at night. Airlines outside the albums still go into your logbook.
NOTIFICATIONS
Get told when a new aircraft enters your radius, in the background too. Filter for all aircraft, scheduled flights only, or your own watchlist.
STATISTICS
How many aircraft passed over you today? The hourly chart shows your busiest times and where the traffic came from.
FILTERS
Show or hide exactly what you want: scheduled flights, general aviation, gliders, light aircraft, military, other traffic and airports.
TWO LANGUAGES
English and German, following your system language automatically.
PRIVACY FIRST
No account. No ads. No in-app purchases. Your location never leaves your device in personal form – it is used solely to request the aircraft near you. Everything you collect stays on your phone.

What’s new

Privacy: your location is now sent rounded to about 110 metres when asking which aircraft are nearby, instead of to the metre. Nothing you see changes – the smallest search radius is 10 kilometres.

New: the privacy policy, terms of use and legal notice are now reachable straight from the settings.

The privacy policy has been rewritten and now states in full which service receives what – and which lookups do not involve your location at all.
