About this app
A guide to many of the thousands of haunted locations in the UK; users can click on the ghost icons to reveal more data about the alleged paranormal phenomena at each location. See which haunted locale is closest to you! The icons represent the type of haunted locale - pub, restaurant, castle etc. You can find out the meanings in the help page (top left hand corner button) - or see the images here.
The map can be dragged and zoomed, or can be searched for UK addresses and postcodes via the text box. The app saves the last location browsed if it is closed down.
If you are within the UK, and have allowed the app to track your location, you can see if any locations are in your vicinity (please note that the app DOES NOT store your history, and nothing is transmitted back to the author, Google or anyone else). Occasionally, the app might lose track of your position due to your phone being unable to ascertain where you are. If this happens, just click the round "current location" button to the top right of the screen.
If you allow the app to calculate your current location, and you pause it, or it goes into hibernation, your position may be lost; in this case, click on the circle button on the top right and this will usually do the trick. This is a modification caused by Google not wanting apps to calculate locations for "background" apps.
The calendar button on the top right of the screen lists so-called "anniversary ghosts", listed in order of month, season etc. Clicking on the links will scroll and zoom to the entries, and an information page displayed.
Clicking on the information icon on the top left hand corner reveals a help page, along with contact details.
The app is updated with new locations every month or two.

What's new
3rd June 2024: version 30 released. 47 new additions, giving a total of 5647 haunted venues. In addition, four new anniversary hauntings, and 116 updates included. There have also been some minor bug fixing and typo corrections.
