"TraffPav" is a mobile application developed for professionals and students of Civil Engineering. Its main objective is to facilitate and expedite the calculation of the "N" (number of axle repetitions of vehicles), which is fundamental for the design of new pavements or for restoration projects.
The main advantages of the application compared to existing software (such as Medina) are:
- Ease of Use: TraffPav already provides the standard axle and load composition from DNIT (Brazilian National Department of Transport Infrastructure), simplifying data entry.
- Project Versatility: The application calculates "N" for both new pavement (using the USACE load factor) and restoration (using the AASHTO factor).
- Calculation Flexibility: Allows the user to choose between arithmetic or geometric progression for traffic growth forecasting.
To use, the user enters the project data (such as initial VDM, lane type, period, and growth rate), selects the vehicle classes, their quantities, and chooses between standard DNIT loads or custom values. The application then calculates the number "N" and provides a technical report in PDF format that can be saved or shared.
