PBNCombo is a color measurement toolkit used in the printing industry. After connecting to a Bluetooth spectrometer, the measurement chart swatches can display concentration, L*a*b*, and color difference. The entire measurement result can be uploaded to the cloud, generating a chart scoring report or ICC profile.
■ Hardware Requirements (Please confirm beforehand)
This app requires a CR30 Bluetooth spectrometer and cannot be replaced by a mobile phone camera or other brand instruments. For first-time use, please complete the spectrometer pairing in "Settings" and perform white and black calibrations as instructed on the screen. All measurement functions will not operate without a connected spectrometer.
■ Serial Number Registration Restrictions
Please obtain your spectrometer serial number via email for registration. Unregistered serial numbers will display a "Please register your serial number first" prompt and may delay data retrieval, but functionality is not limited.
■ Includes nine tools
1. Density Meter
Two single-point measurements, each displaying L*a*b* and C/M/Y/K concentration, and comparing ΔE00 and ΔEab.
2. CT9 Color Calibration
Measures paper and C100/M100/Y100/K100, C50/M50/Y50/K50, and gray balance, comparing against Fogra39, Fogra51, and CRPC6 standards, displaying concentration, color difference, optimal concentration, and fraction.
3. Tool Plate Adjustment
Calculates optimal concentration based on paper and sample measurements, and lists brightness difference, a difference, b difference, and gray difference for on-site ink adjustment reference.
4. Spot Upload: Establish spot color standards (L*a*b*, D50/2°) using company code and employee ID, and set tolerances. These can be stored locally or uploaded to a server, and are available in public and private versions.
5. Spot Down: Download existing spot color standards using company code and employee ID. On-site measurements allow for real-time tolerance comparison.
6. CT9web: Nine color patches are added to the paper sample. After measurement, the sample is uploaded in CGATS format, generating an online export report and score.
7. CT23web: Twenty-three color patches (paper, 25/50/75% grayscale, CMYK tones, and RGB overprinting). The report includes dot gain, density scan curves, a*b* color gamut diagram, and total score.
8. RGB Profile: RGB export table for forty-two color patches. After measurement, an ICC profile (.icm) is created on the server for download.
9. CMYK Profile
A CMYK export table for forty-nine color patches (A1–G7). After measurement, the server generates an ICC profile (.icm) for download.
■ Permissions
• Bluetooth and Nearby Devices: Used to search for and connect to the spectrometer. This app does not infer the user's location from Bluetooth scan results.
• Location Permission: Only required for Bluetooth scanning on Android versions below 11; not required on Android 12 and above.
• Network: Uploads measurement data and downloads spot color standards and ICC profiles.
■ Data and Privacy
Measurement data is uploaded to our server under the work order number for generating reports and profiles. The content consists of color measurement values and does not contain personal identification information.
