Vadlo (વડલો) keeps your family's vanshavali, the family tree that elders remember and old notebooks hold, safe in one place that every relative can see.
Like the banyan tree it is named after, Vadlo grows branch by branch: one generation, one name at a time.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• See your family as a tree, a simple list, or a round fan chart that shows every generation at a glance.
• Pinch and drag to zoom in on any branch of the tree or the fan chart.
• Add a son, brother, father or a whole line of ancestors, in Gujarati and English.
• Record whether a person is living or has passed away. Names of those who have passed are marked with the traditional "સ્વ." prefix.
• Share the tree or fan chart as a picture, ready to send on WhatsApp or print for a family function.
• Tap "My lineage" to watch your own line light up, branch by branch, from you back to your oldest known ancestor. Record it as a short video and share it with the family.
• Use the app in Gujarati or English, and switch any time in Settings.
• Find your village, taluka and district from a list of places across India.
KEPT ACCURATE BY YOUR FAMILY
Every family has an admin, usually a trusted elder. When a relative adds or changes a name, the admin reviews it first. Pending changes are clearly marked until they are approved, so the tree never fills up with mistakes. An admin's own changes are applied immediately.
The admin can hand over the role to another member of the family, who must accept it.
BUILT FOR REAL FAMILIES
• Children are linked to their father, following the vanshavali tradition.
• Daughters appear in the tree too, and can link to the family they married into.
• Only adults can have children added, which helps stop errors.
• Find and contact your family admin from inside the app.
YOUR FAMILY'S PRIVACY
• Only members of your family can see your tree.
• Admins may choose to share the tree with people from the same village, who can look but never change anything.
• No advertising. We don't sell your information.
• You can delete your account yourself from Settings at any time.
