BIG PHONE EASY is a fast and simple Android interface for seniors and people with vision problems, or even for people simply fighting against the millions of icons your smartphone normally displays.
BIG PHONE EASY makes the smartphone suitable for seniors, children, and people with eye diseases or motor problems. Now a simple and easy-to-read interface can be used with ease. There is no fear of making a mistake and losing everything with stress-free navigation.
People who knows smartphone can be the "tutor", you can easily install this app and configure it for your dear impaired relative, initialing the app with the needed list of contacts and references. You can select letters, colors and images suitable for the "user" to be easily associated to the target person. Try not to insert too much contacts, insert just the really needed ones.
Once done, the new interface will come up. Contacts will be displayed on the screen one by one, clearly and easily readable, together with a photo or image, if you loaded it.
Contacts can be scrolled one by one by a simple left or right "swipe" gesture, or by pressing the suitable cursors.
On the lower left corner, there is a button representing a keyboard, if you select it, a big keyboard with big keys will appear, giving you the possibility to dial a number by your own. When you dial a number, the app will vocalize it, making easy the verification of the correct composition.

This is brilliant for my 91 year old mum! I had a few teething problems setting up, but once it was going it was great. Once finalised it's useful to know that a long press on the settings will access the menus again - this info I eventually found. What a wonderful app. I've set 5 picture contacts, disabled everything else I could so she can't press any other buttons by mistake - also disabled SOS as she's in a nursing home and has her own SOS button on her wrist. She's now able to communicate with us when she wishes for a chat, that's all she needs. We're so happy! We used an old phone I had with Android 5.1

Good, except the address book does not sync back to my Google address book, you can import from it but not update it. Also address book can not handle entries with multiple phone numbers. Show stoppers.

Seems easy to work but takes some setting up. I can't get the launcher to become the default though. Perhaps my android version is too old. 4.4.4

it'd be at least well documented.
ANDROID 4.4.4 is really old (2013), it's possible that on some smartphones you can have problem to get my app as default launcher, even if it's a standard launcher!
I implement apps for passion,
that's why they are good, free and no-ads,

What's new
This version features MANY innovations, so if you are coming from version 8, you will have to intervene in the settings to adapt this app to the many new features. Many of these innovations were necessary to overcome the many limitations imposed by the system over time, especially starting from ANDROID 10 and 11. Follow the instructions to set up this new app, you will see that it will be BETTER in EVERYTHING!
