About this app

Twenty detective cases. Five kinds of thinking. No brain-age score.

A pocket watch goes missing at 221B. A cat stops grinning. A concert hall loses its sound. Every case opens with an illustrated cover and a page of story, then asks you to do what a detective actually does.

[Five kinds of thinking]
• Spot the change — two accounts of the same night, one detail altered. Find every difference, and only the real ones.
• Find the missing piece — a statement leaves something out. Work out which fact is absent from what you were told.
• Connect the evidence — match each claim to the evidence that actually supports it, not the one sitting next to it.
• Remove the noise — some sentences carry the case, others only sound like they do. Cut the ones leading nowhere.
• Verify first — before you accept the story, decide the one thing you would check to know whether it holds.

[Twenty case files]
Each case carries its own cover art, its own written mystery, and a fixed difficulty band from Light to Brutal, so you pick the challenge instead of grinding toward it. Replay a case and it draws a different set of problems.

[Why it is built this way]
These are the steps people skip when something else will answer for them. Bori is not a memory game that hands you a score with no reason behind it. Every drill maps to a published finding in cognitive science, and the app shows you the papers: retrieval practice beating rereading, spaced practice beating cramming, and the research on cognitive offloading.

Bori gives no IQ number, no brain age and no dementia risk score, because there is no honest way for an app like this to produce one. It is a general education and wellness tool for practising habits of thought. It does not diagnose or treat anything.

[Leaderboard]
Solve a case and your score takes its place among everyone else working the same file.

[How it is built]
• Private by default — no account, no sign-up, no email. Your progress stays on your device. What goes to the leaderboard is a score: an anonymous per-install identifier, the case number, the score and the country the connection came from. Nothing that identifies you.
• Five cases free — the whole story, all five drills, the leaderboard and the research page.
• Full access opens the remaining fifteen, including the hardest bands the free set never reaches, plus your training analysis by weekday, hour and drill type. Subscriptions are billed through your Google Play account and can be managed or cancelled in Google Play > Subscriptions.
